MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII -- Starting Wednesday, August 9th, the middle westbound lane of Mokapu Rd. will close during school traffic hours: 0740-0800 Monday-Friday, 1345-1415 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 1315-1345 on Wednesdays. Only right turns will be allowed on Mokapu Rd between Harris Ave and G St during these time windows, so vehicle and pedestrian traffic will likely be higher. Please anticipate potentially slower commute times as a result.
PMO will be present during these time windows to direct traffic and assist drivers with the new changes. The attached map depicts the traffic plan to support the new elementary school's construction, which will remain in place for the foreseeable future as construction continues. Thank you for your patience as we build a new elementary school for the students on base.
