MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII -- On the mornings of Monday, February 22nd and Tuesday, February 23rd, a U.S. Air Force C-17A aircraft from 535 Airlift Squadron will conduct demonstration training utilizing Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay and the airspace surrounding Marine Corps Base Hawaii. While MCBH’s distance from heavy commercial traffic makes MCAS Kaneohe Bay the ideal location to conduct this type of training, these aircraft may be flying at lower altitudes than normal, which could result in louder than usual aircraft noise. Pilots are intentionally limiting their time over heavily populated areas to what is necessary for training purposes.
