Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Myette

Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Myette is a native of Carver, Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, MA in 2003. In December 2003, he completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. After attending The Basic School, he completed flight training and was designated a Naval Aviator in May 2006. He subsequently reported to MCAS Camp Pendleton, CA for initial training in the AH-1W Super Cobra.
In September 2006, LtCol Myette was reported to MCAS New River, NC, and was assigned to the HMLA-167 “Warriors.” While assigned to the Warriors, LtCol Myette held multiple billets and deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq from March to August 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning from OIF, LtCol Myette attached to VMM-263 (REIN) as part of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), deploying on the USS Bataan to the Mediterranean and Central Command theaters from May to November 2009. In 2010, LtCol Myette transferred to the HMLA-467 “Sabers” on MCAS Cherry Point, NC, serving as the AH-1 Pilot Training Officer and Maintenance Department Quality Assurance Officer.
In July 2012, LtCol Myette reported to Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, CA to serve as a Developmental Test and Evaluation Pilot with VX-31. While at China Lake, LtCol Myette flew the AH-1Z, UH-1Y, and AH-1W, and served as the Project Officer for the H-1 Upgrades System Configuration Set and the Hellfire Missile System.
In August 2015, LtCol Myette reported to Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University, Quantico, VA. He graduated with distinction in June 2016, earning his master’s degree in Military Studies.
In June 2016, LtCol Myette reported to Marine Aircraft Group 24, MCAS Kaneohe Bay, HI and was assigned to Group Operations section. In August 2017, LtCol Myette was reassigned to HMLA-367 “Scarface” and serving as the Squadron Operations Officer and Executive Officer.
In July 2019, LtCol Myette reported to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and assumed responsibilities as the Executive Officer of the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit. From May to September 2020, LtCol Myette deployed with the MEU to Moron, Spain in support of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response Africa. He deployed a second time with the MEU from March to October 2022, completing a shipboard deployment to the EUCOM and AFRICOM theaters on the USS Arlington. In 2023, he reported to MCB Hawaii to assume command of MCAS Kaneohe Bay.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Strike/Flight numeral two, and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
