MCBH PUBLIC ADVISORY - MCBH included in BWS Urgent Water Conservation Zone (Jul. 18)

18 Jul 2022 |

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – On Sunday, July 17th, a 30-inch water main break occurred along Kamehameha Hwy. in the vicinity of Kahana Bay Beach Park.

In response, the Board of Water Supply (BWS) has designated much of the windward side of the island, including MCBH, as an "Urgent Water Conservation Zone". Water conservation is urgently needed from Kahana to Waimanalo.

All MCBH personnel aboard the installation should begin to conserve water while at work and in their homes, especially during evening hours when water usage is typically the highest.

Water should only be used for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene. Please eliminate any lawn or garden irrigation, car washing, or other outdoor water use.

For more information and updates about the main break near Kahana Bay Beach Park, please visit:  https://www.boardofwatersupply.com/mainbreaks

For information from BWS on water conservation, please visit:  https://www.boardofwatersupply.com/conservation

All businesses aboard the installation have been instructed to begin water conservation measures. As members of the local community and as the largest BWS water user on the windward side of Oahu, we must do our part to conserve water as this issue is resolved.
