MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII -- During late morning on Tuesday, January 5th and Wednesday, January 6th, U.S. Air Force C-17A aircraft from 535 Airlift Squadron will conduct demonstration training utilizing Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay and the airspace surrounding Marine Corps Base Hawaii. While MCBH’s distance from heavy commercial traffic makes MCAS Kaneohe Bay the ideal location to conduct this type of training, these aircraft may be flying at lower altitudes than normal, which could result in louder than usual aircraft noise. Pilots are intentionally limiting their time over heavily populated areas to what is necessary for training purposes.
