Drowning at MCTAB

At 3:45 p.m. today, Range Safety Inspectors with Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) discovered an apparent drowning victim at Training Area 1, Marine Corps Training Area Bellows (MCTAB), MCBH.

            Lifesaving measures were attempted and the victim was transferred to Castle Medical Center via emergency medical services. An official investigation will be conducted and no further details of the incident are available at this time.

            Bellows Beach Park is closed to the public Tuesdays through Thursdays. MCTAB training areas, to include its beaches, is a secured training area and off limits to the general public. Marine Corps Training Area Bellows (MCTAB), located on the windward side of O‘ahu, is a 1,049-acre parcel adjacent to Waimānalo Town.
