U.S. Marines with both Headquarters and Service Companies, Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, participated in a casualty evacuation exercise, evacuating a simulated casualty onto a CH-53 Super Stallion helicopter, MCBH, Oct. 8, 2020.

However, this training iteration was different.

Despite being the company commander for Headquarters Company, U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Sean Kelleher, a CH-53 Super Stallion pilot by trade, was fortunate enough to pilot a helicopter and fly the Marines of his company.

“This opportunity was unique in that it differs from my typical exposure to the Headquarters Marines,” said Capt. Kelleher, regarding his role during the training. This offered him a chance to connect with the Marines under his charge while doing what he loves. “Being afforded the opportunity to fly and lead the HQ Marines is just icing on the cake.”
