The series of exercises provide basic military training and the opportunity to exchange engineering and infantry tactics between participating nations to increase interoperability and to preserve peace in the Asia-Pacific region. Wang, from Canton, Mich., is the liaison officer for USNS Sacagawea. His job is to provide a link between the ship’s staff and the service members aboard.
