U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Cason Cunningham, a machine gun squad leader with Company A, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, congratulates a Timor-Leste Defence Force member for excelling in room-clearing operations during Exercise Koa Moana 15.2 in Dili, Timor-Leste, June 24. The Marines conducted a bilateral exercise with one platoon of the Timor-Leste Defence Force’s land component of the naval force and one platoon of their Marines, focusing on the fundamentals of squad and platoon-level tasks. The bilateral training exercise allows the Marines to share their tactics, techniques and procedures with our international partner, strengthening our understanding of each other’s Defence forces standard operating procedures. - U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Hospitalman Dante Johnson, a hospital corpsman with Headquarters and Support Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin and a native of Chicago, Illinois, removes an adult patient from an overturned car during a Remote Pre-Hospital Trauma and Disaster Course May 13 at the Marrara Fire Department, Northern Territory, Australia. The course refreshed the corpsmen’s basic casualty care response skills and provided them with lectures, skills labs and real world practical application addressing mass casualty care in remote areas. The MRF-D deployment enables Marines and sailors to effectively train, exercise and operate with partner to enhance regional security and build the capacity to respond more rapidly to natural disasters and crises throughout the region (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. U.S. Marines bow their heads as a chaplain prays during the Australian-New Zealand Army Corps Australian-New Zealand Army Corps Day Ceremony April 25, 2015, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The day commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli Campaign, fought by Australian-New Zealand Army Corps forces in World War I. The battle is remembered for the valiant men and the significant losses the nations both suffered. Those who fought are known as “ANZACS” and are honored in one of the most recognized holidays in the South Pacific. (U.S. Marine Corps photos by Sgt.
