Marine Corps Base Hawaii - Public Affairs

The mission of Marine Corps Base Hawaii is to provide facilities, programs and services in direct support of units, individuals and families in order to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.

The MCB Hawaii Strategic Plans and Engagement mission is to develop, execute, and manage the MCB Hawaii Strategic Plan, and associated Engagement and Communication Plans, in order to increase mission readiness aboard the installation through community, stakeholder and partnership support.  The Director executes these approved plans in order to achieve enhanced community, stakeholder and partnership support for MCB Hawaii's mission readiness.

All Non-Federal Entity Requests.

All Non-Federal Entities (NFE) requesting support from Marine Corps Base Hawaii shall submit the NFE Request Form  http://www.mcbhawaii.marines.mil/Portals/114/WebDocuments/PublicAffairs/NFERequestForm_Aug15.docx for consideration. This form is designed for NFEs and private organizations to use in requesting support from Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The information provided is needed to process this request. Forms with incomplete sections will be returned to the requestor. Send this form to the Public Affairs Office not less than 60 days, but no more than 90 days in advance of a scheduled program and/or period of requested support. Please understand all Armed Forces units have specific military duties and training requirements which must take priority over previously scheduled support for an NFE. Participation in public events and programs will only be authorized when it is in the best interests of the Department of Defense and the U.S. Marine Corps, will not interfere with mission or training requirements, and is not legally objectionable. Department of Defense policies require that Armed Forces participation in public events may be provided at no additional cost to the Government.

Community Relations Requests.

Color/Honor Guard and Exhibit/Equipment Participation.  Requests for Non-Aviation and Aerial support will be submitted using DD Form 2536 http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/forms/eforms/dd2536.pdf or DD Form 2535 http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/forms/eforms/dd2535.pdf.  These forms should be submitted to the MCB Hawaii Public Affairs Office not less than 30 day, but no more than 90 days in advance of a scheduled program.  Participation in public programs will only be authorized when such support is in the best interest of the Department of Defense and MCB Hawaii, and does not interfere with mission or training programs. In all cases, operational commitments must take priority and can cause previously scheduled appearances to be cancelled.

Youth Organizations/Camps.

Youth organizations leaders (JROTCs, Scouts, Sea Cadets, etc.) desiring to hold a leadership/training camp aboard MCB Hawaii shall submit the NFE Request Form for consideration.  This form is designed for NFEs and private organizations to use in requesting support from Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The information provided is needed to process this request. Forms with incomplete sections will be returned to the requestor. Send this form to the Public Affairs Office not less than 60 days, but no more than 90 days in advance of a scheduled program and/or period of requested support. Camps should be limited in size to 80 persons, and should be no more than seven days long.
