MCBH Wastewater Release Exceeds Permit Limitations
On November 17, 2025, MCBH experienced a temporary electrical failure in the secondary clarifier at its Wastewater Reclamation Facility (WRF), resulting in a release of effluent exceeding permit limitations for bacteria. The electrical short has been repaired and facility operations have returned to normal.

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) is excited to announce the 2025 Kaneohe Bay Airshow from Aug. 8-10, 2025. The Airshow is opened to the public from Aug. 9-10, 2025 with Aug. 8, 2025 being reserved for Military Appreciation Day. All three days of the Airshow will take place on MCBH.

Blue Angels 2025 Kaneohe Bay Air Show Winter Visit
Media representatives are invited to Marine Corps Base Hawaii for the Blue Angel Winter visit on 10 January 2025 in preparation for the August 2025 Kaneohe Bay Airshow. Media will be able to interview BA 7 Major Scott “Goldie” Laux and BA 8 LCDR Lilly “Lunchbox” Montana from 0840 – 0855 at the Marine Corps Air Station terminal. This opportunity will offer attendees an opportunity to garnish interest for future coverage of the upcoming airshow in August which showcases the teamwork and professionalism of the Marine Corps, sister military services, and the community. Marine Corps Base Hawaii is hosting the annual Klipper Ceremony
Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) will be hosting the annual Klipper Ceremony to commemorate the attack on Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay. The ceremony marks the 83rd anniversary of the attack and will feature the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band. The event is scheduled for Dec 7, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. at the MCBH flagpole and is open to Service members, their families, civilian employees, retirees and their guests. MCBH and HPD Partner for Joint Traffic Enforcement Operation
On Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) and Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) launched a joint traffic enforcement operation on the H-3 Highway near MCBH. This initiative responded to rising community concerns about traffic safety and violations in the area, marking the first collaboration between HPD and the MCBH Provost Marshal’s Office (PMO) on a traffic enforcement effort.

Marine Corps Base Hawaii Wastewater Spill
MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – At approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, untreated wastewater, exceeding 1,000 gallons, spilled from a sanitary sewer manhole cover in the vicinity of Lawrence Rd and Waikulu Dr. MCBH has notified the State of Hawaii, Department of Health’s Clean Water Branch of the situation. The spill was caused by a malfunctioning sewage pump and entered the Mokapu Central Drainage Canal via a storm drain. The malfunction has been fixed, the spill is no longer occurring, and the affected grounds and surface streets have been cleaned and disinfected. -30-
