HONOLULU — The Marine color guard for Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115, “Silver Eagles,” stand at attention during a wreath laying at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, July 29, 2016. Marines paid tribute to 1st Lt. Jack Aldrich, the first pilot killed from that squadron. With a long history of participating in almost every major conflict since their formation 73 years ago, VMFA-115 honored their fallen comrade. Marines from VMFA-115, stationed aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S.C., were in Hawaii participating in the 2016 Rim of Pacific exercise, the largest maritime exercise in the world. Between aircraft maintenance and training, Marines remembered the legacy of Aldrich. (Marine Corps Photo by Lance Cpl. Jesus Sepulveda Torres)
