Special guests and Marine Corps Community Services Hawaii staff pose for a photo after an awards presentation at Kahuna’s Sports Bar and Grill, Aug. 6, 2015. Col. Sean C. Killeen, the commanding officer of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, presented 2014 Food and Hospitality Excellence Awards to representatives from 13 MCCS Hawaii services. More than 60 facilities across the Corps sent nominations to Headquarters Marine Corps for the excellence awards. MCB Hawaii nominated and was awarded for all 13 services. In addition, Kahuna’s was named Club of the Year for 2014, and Camp H.M. Smith’s Aloha Kitchen was given “Honorable Mention” as the runner up for Food and Beverage Facility of the Year. Providing excellent service is the mission of MCCS, which directly supports units, individuals and families in order to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
