A mature red-footed booby bird (right) and a younger one nest together at the Ulupa‘u Wildlife Management Area aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, June 3, 2014. From June 1 through 7, Todd Russell, a natural resources manager at the Environmental Compliance and Protection Department and four visiting biologists attached GPS tags and temperature depth recorders to more than 30 red-footed booby birds living on base, just above Kaneohe Bay Range Training Facility.
