On September 1, 2018 MCB Hawaii will transition to a new government-owned access control system called Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS). DBIDS will replace RAPIDGate and MCB Hawaii contractor credentials for contractors and other non-DoD-affiliated personnel requiring unescorted installation access.  More info on DBIDS

 The Visitors Center, also known as the Pass House is located in Bldg. 1637 at the H-3 entrance of Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay. The Visitor Center is responsible for long and short term vehicle passes for retired and active duty personnel, dependents, houseguests, civilian employees, sponsored visitors, contractors and vendors. The Visitor Center also issues temporary identification cards, rapid gate ID's, commercial activity request passes, special event passes, and houseguest cards.
Hours of operation are 0600-1630 open 7 days a week.
Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

* Contractor and Vendor long term passes and badges are issued Monday-Thursday between 0700-1630.
**FOKB Passes and badges are issued at the Visitors Center/Pass House by appointment only on Fridays and Saturdays by calling Klipper Golf Course at (808) 254-2107.

The Customer Service Center, also known as Vehicle Registration is located on 3rd street in Bldg. 1095 on the first floor. The Customer Service Center is responsible for base vehicle registration, issuing non-resident forms, houseguest registration and cards, contractor vetting, background checks, check-in/out, weapons registration, fingerprinting as well as long and short term vehicle passes for retired and active duty personnel, dependents, houseguests, and civilian employees.
Hours of operation are 0730-1630 Monday-Friday
Closed on all Federal holidays.


Starting Jan. 1, 2020, the Department of Defense will authorize all service-connected Veterans, Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war (POW), and individuals approved and designated as the primary family caregivers of eligible Veterans under the Department of Veterans Affairs Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) can use commissaries, exchanges, and morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) retail facilities, in-person and online.

*Primary caregivers do not have and will not be granted sponsorship privileges.

On your first visit to MCB Hawaii, visit the Visitors Center, building 1637, MCB Hawaii, or the Pass and Registration Office, Camp Smith, and present your Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC). The VHIC must identify your eligibility status as Service-Connected, Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, Former POW, or a combination thereof. Veterans not in possession of a VHIC are also authorized to present a VA Health Eligibility Center (HEC) Form H623A and a REAL ID compliant driver’s license or identification card.

Provide a second form of government identification that verifies your social security number (Social Security Card, Taxpayer Identification Number, or Certificate of Naturalization).The clerk will register your VHIC card in the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) and ask you to provide required biographical information. This process can take 5 – 10 minutes and when completed, you are successfully registered for Base access.

Please present your VHIC to the gate sentry each time you visit the Base, where it will be scanned to verify your Base access eligibility. For additional MCBH access information, please view or download this brochure.

All privately owned firearms and other weapons transported aboard the installation must comply with Base Order 5532, Chapter 5, and be registered with the Provost Marshal’s Office.
