Mission

Provides daily administrative support to include preparation and drafting of reports, correspondence, awards, messages, and maintenance of official files/directives and publications.  Coordinates Battalion level investigative and legal administrative functions.  Receives, processes, and distributes incoming mail to assigned personnel.  Issues mail orderly cards to authorized personnel.   Assists incoming and outgoing service members and their dependents with an array of administrative tasks.

Plans, schedules, coordinates, and conducts individual training as required for battalion personnel to include physical fitness tests, marksmanship training, driver improvement training, essential subjects testing, water safety survival training, weight control and military appearance programs, leadership training, troop information programs, and nuclear, biological and chemical training.  Manages the physical fitness improvement program.  Coordinates and administers the Marine Corps Institute Program.

Mission

To provide logistical support and supply functions in the conduct of annual training and safety requirements in conjunction with supporting yearly Moral Welfare and Recreation events/activities for Headquarters Battalion.  To assist tenant organizations in logistical matters as required.

Mission Performance Tasks

Provides logistical support to all sections within Headquarters Battalion including, sponsored special events.  Coordinates the issue, receipt, repair, replacement survey, and inventory of bachelor quarters furniture and equipment.  Maintains accurate account of the Consolidated Memorandum Report for accountability of equipment.  Oversees the janitorial and room service details.  Responsible for the upkeep of barracks and supervises personnel in maintaining cleanliness and safety of surrounding buildings and adjacent areas.  Supervises the armory personnel to ensure adequate maintenance of facilities projects and property account.  Performs the duties of the destructive weather coordinator and unit telephone coordinator.

Mission

The primary mission of the career planner is to take care of Marines in the unit by assisting them in improving their performance and competitiveness for promotion and retention.

Conducts the Career Planning program to promote the reenlistment of all qualified Marines. Counsels first term Marines on the First Term Alignment Plan and the opportunities associated with it.

  • Counsels all Marines on Special Duty Assignments. Conducts screenings for such duties in accordance with MCO 1326.6D.

  • Counsels Marines on Promotion Boards and how to track their own career.

  • Counsels and assists Marine in applying for various officer programs.

Mission

Substance Abuse Control Officer (SACO) is the commander's Level 1 program coordinator, technical advisor on policies and liaison with professional assets.  Duties include unit education/prevention program, screening alcohol/drug abusers and referring them to the Substance Abuse Control Center.  The SACO monitors the aftercare program for the unit, conducts the urinalysis testing program and is a member of the Substance Abuse Task Force Panel.
