Fight and Deliver: 31st MEU, America ARG Build an Integrated Blue-Green Team October 26, 2020 — Over the course of a recent deployment, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and America Amphibious Ready Group enhanced interoperability between the Navy-Marine Corps team, challenging old patterns and finding new ways to integrate capabilities. MEUs regularly embark, train and deploy on Navy vessels in order to be prepared to respond to crisis anywhere in the world. Although Marine Corps Units regularly deploy with the Navy, there are challenges associated with bringing together personnel from multiple units across two military branches. Additive Manufacturing: CLB-31 Supports the Blue-Green Team with 3D Printing Technology October 14, 2020 — Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31 are using 3D printing technology to save thousands of dollars and weeks of time for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and America Amphibious Ready Group. From small parts to more complex designs, the Marines of CLB-31 are assisting in daily functions and cutting back on cost for the Marine Corps. Prepare to be Boarded: 31st MEU - America ARG conduct VBSS rehearsal in South China Sea September 24, 2020 — The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and America Amphibious Ready Group executed a simulated visit, board, search, and seizure mission, here, September 6. The exercise began with detailed planning across all three ships assigned to the America ARG. During the execution, dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) posed as a foreign ship that had been identified as a non-compliant vessel transporting illicit cargo, while amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) and amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) carried out the simulated mission... Crisis response: CLB-31, 31st MEU prepare NCO's to lead the way September 3, 2020 — U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, attend a class about the CLB’s role in non-combatant evacuation operations and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief aboard USS New Orleans (LPD 18). The non-commissioned officers in attendance learned the key components of NEO and HADR missions, as well as how the command uses the rapid response planning process to launch teams for quick action. Setting the Example: 31st MEU Marines clean up Kin Blue beach August 14, 2020 — Reveille was at 0530 on the morning of July 25th; platoon internal training with Combined Anti-Armor Team 1 concluded the night prior. The Marines were all tired and ready to go home, but CAAT 1 had one more task to complete. After spending three full days and nights patrolling and practicing basic infantry skills in the heat, CAAT 1 spent the morning clearing the beach from trash and debris that had washed up on the beach over time. Marines and Sailors that use the training area are expected to clean it after the completion of training, but CAAT 1 decided to take it a step further and clean the beach and all the washed-up trash as well.
